13th may 2013 its time for me and my fellow vikings to travel to Thailand and stay there for a longer time.
We will keep this blogg updated with pictures and other fun stuff from Thailand, We will build a papermachine from scratch.
Had an unplanned stop at this place last week on our way back from Bangkok where we had been to settle the last details with our work permit when we got major car problems. Unfortunately the place was about closing down for the evening but we could at least feed the fishes and see their very big "walking Buddha" statue. We also got some nice evening pictures.
We have started to get to know a shop owner in Nong Khae, last saturday she had birthday and took as out for dinner with her husband and children at a restaurant with live music and karaokee.
We have really lot of Pattaya pictures, here are some pictures from Jomtien Tower and surroundings. Jomtien Tower is the highest building in Pattaya and is approx. 250 m high. The "bird cage" shown before is one way up to the top of the building and it didn't feel so very trustworthy, but what the heck, we got up at least.
And the expressway down didn't promise much either.
We can hereby confirm that the mosquito population of Nong Khae, Saraburi seem both strong and viable. Fortunately help is close to hand, today we found that Riverpro is buying their own anti-mosquito agent for their employees from a local farmer:
Had a day trip to Ayutthaya today, about 35 km west of Nong Khae. Visiting ruins of buddhist monasteries that were destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century. The Burmese did not just destroy the monasteries but also decapitated almost every Buddha statue.
As it says above, neither Jason, a rusty bird cage that takes you from the ground up to 250 meters up in the air and then a fall all 250 meters down to the ground again could kill us. I.e. vikings survives everything!
Every thursday morning Riverpro employees has a gathering at the factory parking where they sing the Kings Song of Thailand and then has common work out. After this one member of the company management team makes a speech and finally all employees helps to clean the factory front side. Otherwise we're making good this far, tuesday afternoon we presented our observations from first week and some suggestions for improvements to the management board.and they seemed to be very satisfied with our results. Also, almost every employee at Riverpro seems to be happy over our presence and they are very friendly to us. Tomorrow we go for a 2 days trip to Pattaya to visit some work friends from Sweden. /Vikings
Had a business trip to Saraburi this morning with two members from Riverpros HR office. On our way home we stopped for some food at another good thai restaurant.
Hey guys! Maybe not the most funny post in this blog but just want to tell you all that since three days ago our work at Riverpro has begun which means we have entered a new phase in our stay here. But don't worry, our ambition is still to keep you updated most every day but maybe not so much pictures as before, or who knows... This far everything seems good with work anyway and we really hope this will continue. Til next update, have good time!
